Fiction Warehouse presents our
submissions
information and guidelines

Fiction Warehouse has gone to Form Submissions Only! Due to the high volume of stories we receive each week, we have decided to totally automate our submissions process.  From this point on, all stories can now be cut-and-pasted into a form and sent on their merry way.

To help streamline the process, Fiction Warehouse is implementing a few guidelines to save of us all a bit of time. Please read carefully.

  1. Fiction Warehouse accepts fiction short stories with a literary leaning.  We do not accept stock genre fiction or polemical texts.
  2. All submissions must be original, unpublished work.  Upon acceptance of your work, FW acquires First Serial Rights.  After publication, all rights return to you, and you may then submit your story elsewhere.  Please notify the new editor that your story has been previously published - an attribute such as "originally published at Fiction Warehouse" would be a nice thing to add, but it isn't necessary.
  3. Fiction Warehouse has no limit for story length.  If your story is of novella length, though, add the word "novella" after the title and send only the first twenty pages.  Novel excerpts must work as a short story.
  4. Simultaneous submissions are acceptable.  Please notify us if your work is accepted elsewhere, though.
  5. A maximum of 3 stories can be submitted at one time. Only one story per author will be chosen, but an author can resubmit stories after their date of publication.
  6. Fiction Warehouse features emerging and established writers.  We look forward to reading the best of your work!
